NOOK Tablet

NOOK Tablet
Designed as a competitor to the Kindle Fire, the NOOK Tablet is Barnes and Noble's venture into the tablet market. With a price tag of $199 for the 7-inch model, it is priced similarly to the new Kindle Fire HD, but much cheaper than the iPad. The NOOK tablet will feature downloadable content from Netflix and Hulu, 2.5 million titles from their online book store as well as applications, comics and Nook Kids (a service that provides over 1000 interactive kid's book similar to Tumblebooks). Downloading library books to the NOOK Tablet was also made much easier recently with the addition of the Overdrive Media Console app into the Barnes and Noble app market. The newest NOOK Tablets this year, the Tablet HD and HD+, have similar features of the original tablet, with a higher resolution and faster processor. The new Tablet HD has a 7-inch screen and the HD+ has a 9-inch screen.
